Christmas Workshops

November and December were quite busy months. I held several workshops after school for staff who had requested Christmas activities. I mirrored these workshops in my local community utilising the beautiful space of the Geoffrey room at Monmouth Priory. We delved into the art of Lino printing, the therapeutic effect of carving away sections of Lino soon had all participants mindfully involved in the creative process.

I must thank Ruth Sidgwick for introducing me to the art of rubber stamping. This simple process involves making stamps from erasers. Participants enjoyed the mass production of labels and wrapping paper, switching off for an hour from the hustle and bustle of Christmas to indulge in the creative process.

We also welcomed our first virtual participants. I sent them a small pack of materials prior to the workshop enabling them to take part in all our activities, I received really positive feedback reflecting an improvement on their wellbeing and a real enjoyment of the practical activities despite being so far away.
