On Saturday 29th Jan I was delighted that I was able to meet up with several friends that I studied with at The University Of Wales while I was studying my MA. What is even better is that they came to Monmouth. We spent time in St Mary's Church, a beautiful building full of light and intricate details moving on to the Priory buildings to create.
I must admit we did spend a lot of time chatting, there was so much to catch up on. We did manage to fit in some creative time and create some mono prints to reflect a sense of place.
I took some photographs and completed some sketches and decided to develop these further when I got home. I love mono printing, I had forgotten how exciting it is when you peel back the paper to reveal the accidental blotches and tonal areas underneath.
Adding watercolour enhances some areas and enables me to isolate points of texture and tone. Perhaps a painting next?
